The brothers Rudolf and Adolf Dassler ran a shoe factory and developed running shoes (spikes) and many athletes broke records and won major competitions wearing their shoes.
But they went their separate ways and in 1948 Rudolf started his own business and initially RUDA became PUMA 4 months later. He then developed football boots in 1950 and were the first company to develop the world's first boot with screw-in studs.
PUMA continues to develop new technically innovative sportswear worn by sports men and women around the world and in 2023 celebrates 75 years.
